EU Commission consults on guidelines for platforms fairness and transparency

The new P2B regulation plans that the Commission will issue guidlines on transparency requirements for platforms and search engines to guarantee users have enough understaing of search ranking mechanisms. The P2B regulation is applicable from July 2020 and the EU Commission public consutlation is available until 12 December 2019. It aims at defining best practices and sectoral orientations together with clarification of the notions of “search ranking” and “parameters”.
