Dan Cnossen

Cnossen competed at the 2018 Winter Paralympics and created history in his second Paralympic appearance after claiming a gold medal in the men's 7.5km sitting biathlon event. In doing so, he became the first American male and the second American ever to claim a gold medal in a biathlon event in the Olympics or the Paralympics. Dan is a US Navy Seal Platoon Leader and earned the Purple Heart and Bronze Star with Valor. He lost his legs when he stepped on an IED. Since then, he has been speaking with leadership, teamwork, and the ability to meet challenges with dignity and success. He is participating in many Scandinavian cross-country and biathlon events this winter in 2023. More information on
